Description: Creating gourd art is one of my passions. Every gourd has been hand picked,cleaned,and prepared. Every gourd is truly ORIGINAL & one of a kind! No two are ever alike!I chooses my designs on a whim, and use a free-hand technique that allows the design to flow with the shape of the gourd. I uses the art of PYROGRAPHY (WOOD BURNING).. ancient technique for burning a design INTO the surface of an item. Pyrography has been used by indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Each gourd is hand painted using a variety of acrylic paints and stains, then several layers of sealer are applied to the gourds outer shell protect the design and to add a satin finish. I often finalizes each piece by embellishing with beads and wire.I create whimsical gourd birdhouses,trinket boxes,bowls,vases and whimsical fairy sculpter. check them out on the website http://www.enchantedbungalow.com
